Our Community Service Partnerships

Programs and initiatives sponsored and supported by the Charlotte Alumni Chapter bring people together to actively build better communities locally and a better world nationally. The central focus of our activities is to enrich the lives of both our members and those who we directly serve.

None of our programs receive local, state or federal funding. These programs are made possible entirely by member contributions and funding from the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte.

Our core programming addresses education, the environment, health, the arts, careers, personal achievement and leadership development. Take a moment to review the information about these programs and initiatives. Feel free to contact us about taking advantage of what we have to offer.

For The Struggle, Inc - Senior Feeding Program

Many seniors, especially black seniors, suffer from various health issues and do not have access to healthy food for several reasons, including living in a food desert. This issue was greatly exacerbated by COVID-19 because even seniors who could go to a grocery store or restaurant have had legitimate fears of doing so due to their age and pre-existing health conditions that make them high risk. To respond to this issue, For The Struggle's Senior Feeding Program was created with the support from the Appalachian Community Fund.

Green Kids Science Club

We want to get your child involved in STEM-based interactive learning in a way that is fun and keeps them engaged in learning. We use mentoring, tutoring, and hands-on activities to help kids understand the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Green Kids Science Club’s goal along with Charlotte (NC) Alumni is to teach kids to love learning, and to prepare them for the future with a solid understanding of technology and science.
